¿Te preocupa que una parte integral de la experiencia de Dir en grey pueda perderse en la traducción?
"No me preocupa eso porque la manera en que pensamos difiere de una persona a otra. Creemos que la gente que pueda entendernos, nos entenderá".
Ha habido numerosas e increíle bandas de rock japonesas como BUCK-TICK, X JAPAN y Brain Drive, ¿por qué crees que habéis sido vosotros los primeros en ganar semejante seguimiento fuera de Japón?
"Bueno, no estoy realmente seguro, pero supongo que la gente puede sentir algo en nosotros que no pueden sentir en alguien más. ¿O quizás es simplemente porque hacemos muchos tours en el extranjero?"
Algunos piensan en vosotros como una 'nueva' banda que no ha tenido mucha exposición en estas orillas, ¿cómo les describirías Dir en grey?
"Tienen razón, tan sólo somos una nueva bada. Preferiría que la gente mantuviera una mente abierta al momento de escuchar nuestra música y experimentar nuestros lives".
Mientras vuestro sonido y estilo se ha desarrollado durante años, ¿qué bandas han tenido un mayor impacto en ti?
"Es difícil de decir, pero he sido mayormente ifluenciado por las bandas de rock japonesas de finales de los 80 y principios de los 90. Ahora mismo, escucho tipos de música muy variada".
¿Podemos esperar lives de Dir en grey, y hay algún plan para un tour por Inglaterra?
"Os mostraremos un live nunca antes visto. No es nada de una producción en un escenario pomposo o algo así, sino tan sólo la música, los gritos y la energía pura que podemos crear".
¿Cuán importante es para ti obtener éxito fuera de Japón?
"Honestamente, quiero que todo el mundo escuche nuestra música, pero eso no significa que quiera conseguir la dominación mundial. Todo lo que queremos hacer es continuar con el desafío para ver cuán lejos podemos seguir para expresarnos y empujar todos los límites".

What were you going for musically with the new record?Kaoru: We tried to set an oriental atmosphere and wanted to make not only heavy sounds but also beautiful ones.
How will it be different than your last disc The Marrow of a Bone?I think you will find on this album that it’s not all hard and heavy but it’s really beautiful and something that lets you visualize several scenes.
Are there any specific scenes you’re addressing?I’d rather not say yet, because we want everyone to feel it by themselves when they listen to it.
Why did you decide to sign with The End Records for the release?We thought they would be the most motivated to work with us among labels we had as options.
A lot of metal bands do really cheap videos and don’t put much thought into them. However, you always put a lot of time and effort into your videos. Do you think the music videos are as artistically important as the album?Very important! It doesn’t make any sense for the band unless our will is reflected to everything that we can express ourselves. Basically, we like creating things and essentially have to spend time for it.
Tell us about the video for “Dozing Green” Who shot it, what is it about?Mr. Hiroyuki Kondo, who has been working on our video works more than 10 years, has directed this music video. We thought it would be boring to simply edit footage expressing destruction and pain and our performing scene, so we decided to set video screens behind us so as to show both images at the same time.
Was there anything difficult about the shoot?Nothing special, but I heard that when some members set off bottle rocket near the locale, they got yelled at by neighbors for all that noise.
Are the other songs on the album going to be similar to “Dozing Green?”Nope. Maybe song with similar atmosphere though… Well, but, there is no similar or same song on this album at all.
Any funny stories about things that happened while recording the album?Well, we have only painful memories. I can’t say anything more.
Asian metal seems to be getting more attention these days internationally. Dir En Grey, Sigh and Cthonic have all gotten a lot of press in the past couple years. What other Asian bands should we keep our eyes out for?The Mad Capsule Markets is one of my longstanding favorite bands although they suspend their activities now.

"This November Dir en grey return with their new full-length album " Uroburos." Available in three varieties, the largest version of the set featuring two CDs, one bonus DVD, and two LPs is an extremely limited release available for guaranteed preorder only until August 16, 2008.
Dir en grey's new album "Uroboros" draws it's name from the cyclical serpent--the mystical symbol of a snake consuming its own tale. What better image is there for a band that frequently consumes itself in order to make a more powerful, perfect, whole? Like the Uroboros of legend, Dir en grey's new album marks a sort of return for the band, revisiting the pre-"Withering to Death" era with what is scheduled to be the band's most diverse, brooding, and creative release yet. Non-screaming vocals are set to take on a stronger part in the compositions--competing with new intruments like mandolins. Thematically "Uroboros" considers topics of guilt and reincarnation.

Hell yeah xD ya dieron fecha del nuevo single de diru *-* lastima que habian dicho que iba a ser un album y termino siendo un single xDD pero bueno, citando las palabras de Kiki, necesitaban un poco de descanso esos pobre ninios xDDDD
A second nation-wide standing tour titled "TOUR08 THE ROSE TRIMS AGAIN" is set. DIR EN GREY will kick off this tour on September 10th, when a long-awaited new single "GLASS SKIN" is released, starting with OFFICIAL FAN CLUB 「a knot」 exclusive live shows, which will be their first in almost a year.

Starting pre-production work on the record in mid-March, the band commenced recording their new album in the Sony Tokyo building studio's recently. When they finish recording their first batch of tracks in the forthcoming weeks, the band will then return to pre-production to work on the remainder of their songs before completing work on the album in time for a late 2008 release.
"The album will be stuffed with themes of 'guilt and reincarnation', as well as 'the past, present and future of Dir En Grey,'' says guitarist Kaoru. 'This will be heavier and darker than previous albums, with a sort of oriental and religious mood and connotations. We're experimenting with different sounds - we'd like to introduce a multitude of different instruments on this album."
Despite reports to the contrary, Dir En Grey have confirmed that X-Japan member Yoshiki will not be producing the album. Instead, the band will be self-producing."
esperemos que sus nuevas experiencias den buen resultado xD, personalmente, confio que va a salir un HERMOSO nuevo single de dir en grey... espero que Kaoru cumpla y sea bien diferente ^^ ni idea qué clase de instrumentos vayan a usar...
